General
- Who is Avetria Networks? Avetria Networks is a Local owned and operated internet provider that has been in business since 2014 providing wireless internet to Maryhill, Bloomingdale, Winterbourne, West Montrose, Conestogo, St. Jacobs, Elmira, Waterloo, and Kitchener to name a few. We use carrier grade equipment along with the proper hardware, tools and knowledgeable staff. Avetria stands above the competition, and offers outstanding customer support and internet service.
- What is fiber internet service? Fiber-optic cabling is the fastest data transmission system in existence. By installing these cables down the street and to your home or business, we can offer internet service faster than any other company, at speeds up to 1000 Mbps now, and faster later.
- What are the advantages over my current service? Our fiber system allows much faster speeds than any other internet access platform, and is a future-proof way to insure you’ll have the speeds you need in the future for video streaming, remote work, study etc. If you’re currently using service from some of our competitors and seeing reliability issues due to interference, trees, weather, water in the phone lines or other factors none of those have any effect on a fiber system.
- How reliable is the service? Fiber is extremely reliable and failures are usually limited to the rare cases when there is physical damage to it (for example, someone digging holes without using the call-before-you-dig service, for which we’ll come out and mark the fiber conduit location).
- What work will you be doing on the road? We will be installing vaults in the ground in the right-of-way on both sides of the road, and using horizontal drilling to install conduit between those vaults. We will also be working with Waterloo North Hydro delivering fiber to homes using the poles as well.

- What plans are available? We over a many different plan options from just internet to internet phone and HD TV. Monthly cost is a combination of services offered and internet speed required.
- What speeds would people need? Customers who work from home or upload lots of data would be better served with the 60 Meg package. Customers who concurrently have multiple streams and internet usage would be better served with our 100 Meg package.
- How long is the contract? We do not require contracts. Payment is due in advance on a monthly bases. Should you move we just ask that you tell the new owner of our service and have them contact us directly. 519-589-2881 to maintain uninterrupted service.
- By when do customers need to sign up? For customers to get a discount on the install price, they must be signed up and the install process started before we finalize the vaults for their area, so we recommend they sign up as soon as possible.
- Does Avetria provide e-mail addresses? We recommend a service such at Gmail, however we can provide multiple @avetria.ca addresses, which can be used in any e-mail software or webmail. Each address is $10.00 per year.
- Does Avetria offer television or phone service through its fiber? YES, we offer fantastic TV packages from our plus package with 60+ channels at $30.00 per month all. We also offer unlimited North America calling with your phone number moved over for $20.00 per month. We recommend that if customers use our phone service through our fiber network, they should connect all the equipment on a battery-backup UPS system so that it will still work during power outages.
Pricing
- How much does the install cost? The installation cost is a minimum $0 if sign up in your area before the deadline on your street. With a minimum $499 if signed up afterwards. Current Avetria customers get a discount depending on how long they’ve been with Avetria. Longer conduit runs or additional work during the install, e.g. loops to avoid sprinkler lines or horizontal drilling under driveways or other surfaces, will be quoted extra.
- Can service be suspended? Yes, just give us a call and we can discuss your needs. 519-804-4421.
- How can this be paid? When is billing done? Are paper bills sent? The service can be paid for by pre-authorized credit card cheque, or e-transfer. Bills are sent by e-mail in advance, payment is due on the first day of every month.
- What is the install process? The customer arranges for a visit by an Avetria technician that surveys the property, takes pictures and then creates an installation plan. The Avetria Office then organizes the fiber routing and sends a quote to the customer, no charge for early registration customers. Once this is accepted, Avetria organizes locates from the other underground providers, then the field crew plows the fiber from the vault to the NID located on the side of the house. Finally, the inside crew runs indoor fiber from the NID to the router location, installs the inside termination box, and completes the contract and final checks.
- I already have internet from a wireless provider can I switch easily? Yes, switching is super easy. Once we run the fiber to the side of your home we will reuse the existing cable that has already been run inside your home to provide you with Avetria fiber internet. No need to run new cables to your existing equipment.
- How quickly can the service be installed? The street work per area will take around a month. Around the end of that process, the outside work for the house installs will begin. A few weeks after that, the inside part of the house work will be complete and the customer online. In rare cases where the ditches are flooded or there are other seasonal issues or delays in the fiber splicing, this could force the work to be postponed for a few weeks. Outside work is mostly shutdown during the months of December to April.
- What changes occur to the yard and building? In the yard, a conduit will be plowed from the street-side vault or your back yard to the location where a NID will be installed. The NID is a grey box the size of a book that will be installed on the outside wall of the building about 3ft from the ground. A hole will be drilled in the outside wall to run fiber cable from the NID to the termination/router location in the house. The termination box will be installed and connect to the router.
- Does this leave a mess in the yard? The plowing leaves furrows and depressions/marks in the ground which our crew will remedy to the best of our ability by leveling the ground.
- Is a router included in the service? No router is included, the customer can buy or use their own router, or we sell basic models for $100 or high-speed .AC wireless models with good coverage for $200. Note: older routers may not allow our faster fiber packages to run at full speed, and there is no Wi-Fi router in existence that can truthfully handle the full 1000mbps speed over wireless (only hardwired).
